In these days in which various machine tools have been NC-ed (numerically controlled), proportion of manual work has decreased in manufacturing things and it seems that human being is losing his ability to devise or invent something. However, wisdom of human being is absolutely necessary to use an automated machine. "Filing", a technique that has been used since old days includes a lot of such wisdom.
In our company, employees lean the wisdom by trial and error through "filing" to create "flat surface", "square angle" and "parallel". The training through filing is not so-called a "mental training" at all nor a "nostalgic longing for good days". It is the origin of Mitsui's manufacturing spirit. For this reason, all the new comers to Mitsui High-tec receive this training regardless of their career and whether they are men, women, clerks or engineers.
Fundamental Education of Die-Manufacturing Technology
Experts of the pertinent fields teach the basic operation of various machine tools for making dies. They also give advice to the trainees for embodying the idea of next precision technology, based on the history of developing technology including that of jigs and tools.
Skill Examination System
We introduced a system to examine the skill of technical employees in 1992. It is now divided into 34 kinds of works such as assembling dies and surface grinding classified into three grades from Grade-1 to Grade-3. If an examinee passes the examination of this system, he or she can be regarded as having the knowledge and skill that are equivalent to those of National Examination.
